Both Fr Hess and Fr Peacock (who stays in Baltimore permanently now) are frail now. Fr Peacock doesn't remember much, especially after his bout with cancer a few years back. Fr hess, on the other hand, is still very active mentally. It was a delight to pick both of them up and drive them to the Inner Harbor - havin two ofthe people we used to look up in awe in our formative years with me was an exhilirating experience. Can't sum up the feelings in words....

Since I was not from Sindri there is a slim chance we would have interacted much other than the courts at school.I was also at Xaviers from1982-83 and stayed at Badshah Lodge and met you as well at college. Sweetheart ,I never played for Mecon.Stanley played for Mecon.The match I am talking about was AFMC vs NDA .Soma played in it.They had a great team.His zero shots were very good.If I remember correctly he was left handed and you are the right hand variety.

You are lucky you have a navigator cum driver bibi. Mine does nothing - won't drive unless absolutely forced to, can't read maps, not even would read what is on the screen of the GPS...simply goes to sleep as soon as the car starts rolling out of the driveway.

How long is the drive from Jamshedpur to Patiala (or was it Ludhiana)? I understand road conditions in India have improved vastly over the years - it is a far cry from the moonscape that it used to be from Dhanbad to Sindri specially from Jharia onwards.

Hope you had a nice vacation. What did do you do? I think the weather, in Punjab at this time of the year must be gorgeous. Did you meet any of our old buddies?
